Recovering Detail in Editing by Shooting RAW | Cheese Photography 101

This short video shows the editing workflow and possibilities of recovering detail in high contrast lighting situations or when improperly exposing an image.

Shooting RAW (versus .jpeg) produces an image with more detail recorded to the media and no compression. This results in a larger file size but more opportunities to recover the detail in light and dark areas of the photograph.
